Extra treasure charts in The Wind Waker HD

It’s been long established that one of the most complained about aspect of The Wind Waker was all the excessive sailing and having to do the Triforce also annoyed a lot of people but, luckily, both of those aspects have been adapted and streamlined so they shouldn’t be as bad as they were. But it wasn’t just Triforce shards that could be scooped up from the ocean floor. I always found it strange that, even though you’ve floating far above Hyrule, you can pull up a treasure chest in a few seconds but a looks as though, in The Wind Waker HD, there will be more charts to find than before.

In the original game there was one chart showing you where treasure was hidden around each island plus there were special charts like showing you where all the Big Octos are or how many heart pieces were on each island so there were plenty to collect (I never managed to find them all). It has recently become apparent that there will be even more to find in the HD remake. Not only this but it also seems as though an item that was achieved through a side quest has now been moved into a sunken chest.

Seeing as some of the Triforce shards are now being found in the chests the charts would have been found in, I’d hazard a guess that these new charts will be for the treasure that replaces the shards that would have been found. It has not been announced what item has been removed as the quest prize or what we’ll have to do to get the chart so maybe we’ll just get the chart rather than the item itself. We also haven’t found out what other charts there are to find or if there will be anything special to find but if it ends up being a load of those giant silver rupees I will be very disappointed.
