A Link to the Past is a timeless classic. Its story is well-documented, its characters are beloved, and its game world has been combed over by over a million heroes. But for all the hearts this game has touched since its release in 1991, there are plenty of secrets surrounding it still waiting to be discovered. If you’re looking to learn more about this SNES classic, the popular YouTube series “Did You Know Gaming?recently highlighted a handful of A Link to the Past secrets and shared some trivia about the game.

Hosted by the puppet YouTuber Arlo, this recent episode of “Did You Know Gaming?” features numerous lesser-known facts about A Link to the Past. The video covers development stories, content / ideas left out of the final game, and literary inspirations behind certain in-game scenarios. For me, some of the most interesting pieces of trivia mentioned relate to ideas originally conceived for A Link to the Past that ultimately ended up in other Zelda games, such as the Fairy from Zelda II and the Wind Fish’s egg from Link’s Awakening.
