The hunger for remakes of classic Zelda games is ever-present in our fanbase, and with good reason. Every remake or HD port presents a chance to smooth over some of the rough edges of the initial release with quality-of-life improvements, updated graphics, and higher quality music. After the release of Link’s Awakening for the Switch in 2019, the focus shifted from wanting a remake of that game to wanting a remake of the two Oracle games for the Game Boy Color.

While those remakes would certainly be welcome and I’d enjoy them, I can’t help but think it would be even cooler if Nintendo gave us a “pseudo-remake”, something akin to A Link Between Worlds, where it was kind of a remake, but also an entirely new game. In my opinion, the original Oracle games are still really enjoyable in their current form, so why not, instead of rebuilding those games from the ground up, concentrate that focus on a new game set within the Oracle world? You even have a readymade premise with the fabled Oracle of Secrets game that may-or-may-not have existed at one point.

What do you guys think? Would you rather Nintendo play it safe and deliver an enhanced remake of Ages and Seasons, or would you be fine leaving those as is and playing something new that was set in that world? Let us know in the comments below!
