Daily Debate: Will the Revival of Ganondorf Be Worse Than Calamity Ganon?

The land of Hyrule faced a terrifying disaster known as Calamity Ganon 100 years prior to the start of Breath of the Wild. In a song of legend sung to us by Kass, we learn that the Calamity had been a problem that plagued the land over 10,000 years before, and had been predicted to appear again. As we play through the events of Breath of the Wild we learn the tale of Link’s lost memories from 100 years ago. We learn how Princess Zelda temporarily sealed away the dark beast and lay in wait for when Link could save Hyrule. As we end Breath of the Wild silent princesses are blooming, and Zelda asked Link if he remembers her. Game over right? Not anymore. E3 gifted us a new trailer for the direct sequel to Breath of the Wild and we have learned that Ganondorf will inevitably make his return. But will the revival of the evil king be worse than Calamity Ganon?
Calamity Ganon took great hold over the land of Hyrule. His influence swept the land, corrupting the Devine Beasts, monsters, and destroyed the once beautiful nation. The return of Calamity Ganon cost Hyrule it’s leader, the greatest champions from Hyrule’s races, and devastated the land, leaving it in ruins. 100 years later, the world seems to function, but Ganon’s grasp still holds. Malice and monsters run amok. Princess Zelda has sealed herself in Hyrule Castle to keep Ganon at bay. That’s the worst it can get right? I think not. As we’ve seen in previous games, Ganondorf is powerful. We’ve seen his power in Breath of the Wild. He was able to destroy Hyrule with just his malice, an embodiment of his hatred! Ganondorf’s revival spells a greater doomsday for the nation than Calamity Ganon ever did. Ganondorf has probably been laying in wait in that catacomb, biding his time and recovering. He’s cunning, smart, and very powerful. Something dangerous is brewing and it’s not just seeping malice. All this leads me to believe Ganondorf is a greater force than Calamity Ganon ever was.
All of this is just my opinion, but I want to hear yours! Will the revival of Ganondorf be a greater threat than Calamity Ganon? Sound off in the comments below.
