Even with only a handful of gameplay showcases to go off of, it’s clear that Tears of the Kingdom will boast greater enemy variety than its predecessor. Along with many familiar foes from Breath of the Wild, the game looks to feature its fair share of new enemies, including modern re-imaginings of long-dormant Zelda baddies. Specifically, one of the most iconic bosses from the original Legend of Zelda, Gleeok, is set to make their first appearance since 2007’s Phantom Hourglass.

Seeing that three-headed dragon again got me thinking about the possibility of other old-school Zelda bosses returning. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if each of the bosses from that original game were scattered throughout Tears of the Kingdom’s overworld? A couple of these baddies — namely Digdogger and Aquamentus — have never been re-created in 3D. Even those that were have been out of commission for over a decade — outside of Hyrule Warriors, that is.

Moreso than any of the other bosses, I’d love to see this Hyrule’s interpretation of Gohma. Not only has it been absent from the mainline series since Twilight Princess, but each re-imagining has been more memorable than the last. And frankly, if we do indeed get to explore any underground caverns, then we’re bound to run into at least one giant spider, right?

What about you? If you could pick only one other boss from the original Legend of Zelda, then which one would you want to see in Tears of the Kingdom? Let us know in the comments below!
