With the recent release of Mario Golf Super Rush, I got to thinking. If Breath of the Wild had contained a golf-themed mini game, where in Hyrule would you put the course? With the kingdom’s massive topography, that there are hundreds of spots to set up a series of holes. The rolling plains of Central Hyrule certainly look the part. The land is picturesque and green, though the Guardians could make “playing the ball where it lies” a little difficult. Then again, Zora’s Domain would be a challenging (if ginormous) water hazard. One might even attempt to hit a hole-in-one into Rito Village from the top deck of Divine Beast Vah Medoh. There are so many possibilities!

Personally, I would place my golf course in the hills around the Akkala Citadel. The sharp elevation differences in this region would make for a challenging series of holes. My course would begin in the Torin Wetlands. The holes would sequentially lead the player around the north side of the Citadel’s mountain towards the bridge ruins to the the west. From here, a long drive would be required to smack the ball over the Parade Ground and have it land on the cannon platform on the fortress’s southeast corner. Next, a tricky series of shots would lead the player higher into the Citadel proper. After carefully navigating the golf ball around the big pool of malice, it will be in position for the final challenge. The last shot in the course would be a mile high strike to hit a golf ball from the top of the fortress and land it in the center of Tarrey Town across the Akkala Lake. With Link’s legendary strength, I think such a massive shot would actually have a chance of working.

But that is just my idea. If you had the option to design your own golf course in Breath of the Wild, where would you put it? Let us know in the comments below.
