The Zelda series isn’t usually known for its difficulty, but nobody can deny that it does have some memorably impossible moments, and some incredible boss fights that just can’t be forgotten.

Tons of people remember fights like Dark Link from Ocarina of Time, Goht from Majora’s Mask, and old classics like Ganon from A Link to the Past. I’ve seen hundreds of people reminescing about these famous battles, and personally, I’ll never forget the first time I managed to beat some of those bosses.

It’s hard to pinpoint one boss specifically as the hardest, because all the different games have so many distinct fighting styles and bosses. Not to mention, nostalgia and age play a huge factor in how hard you remember a certain boss fight; back when I first played Ocarina of Time as a kid, it took me nearly three weeks to defeat Ganon, but replaying the game today, it seems like one of the easiest fights in the series.

Personally, looking at it today, I think the hardest battle in the series would be Scervo, the terrifying robot pirate from Skyward Sword. That guy took me about two hours to defeat when I first played the game, and that was only three years ago. Even today, the battle is just impossible, but easily one of the most fun in all the 3D Zelda games.

Another notable battle for me would be Puppet Ganon from Wind Waker. That’s easily my favorite battle in the whole game, possibly in almost the entire series. There’s just so many ways to go about it, and it’s so incredibly fun and colorful. The Snake phase in particular is incredibly difficult; before I figured out tricks like setting up bait for it to eat, trying to hit it with an arrow took immense skill and patience.

What do you think? Who’s the hardest boss in the Zelda series? What’s a boss that took you forever to defeat when you were younger, but that’s a lot easier nowadays? Also, just as a bonus, who’s the most fun to fight? Let us know in the comments!
