As Zelda fans, we live in a wondrous time. Between the mainline entries, remasters, and spin-off titles such as Hyrule Warriors and the upcoming Cadence of Hyrule, there’s something to look forward to just about every year. If you ask me, this more recent content has been varied enough and spread just enough apart from one another so as not to dilute the franchise overall, but that’s a discussion for another time. No, today, with Nintendo’s E3 2019 presentation just around the corner, I plan to act like a spoiled child and say “Yeah, two Zelda games being shown off in one Direct is nice and all, but what about this?!”

In all seriousness, there’s really no need to show anything beyond Cadence of Hyrule and the Link’s Awakening remake at this year’s show — we’re already primed for one heck of a good time. Just for fun, though, let’s talk about what our dream, pie-in-the-sky Zelda-related announcement would be. Even excluding my desire to see a glimpse of the series’ next major installment, I’ve got a couple of ideas that immediately spring to mind.

For as repetitive as it is, I’ve got no problem saying I love Hyrule Warriors more than most people out there. Honestly, if I were to rank it alongside the mainline entries, it would unquestionably be in my top 5. And as much as I love the refinements that last year’s Definitive Edition brought to the table, I’m ready for a proper sequel. I’m talking a brand new story, new maps, and a boatload of new characters. Hyrule Warriors 2: The Reckoning of Groose — make it happen, guys. If I’ve got to think somewhat more realistically, then how about Twilight Princess HD on the Switch? C’mon, Nintendo — it’s my birthday on E3 Sunday.

That’s enough from me, though. Share your dreams in the comments below!
