A great aspect of the Zelda series as a whole is that every single Nintendo console to date, from the NES to the Wii U, has a quality Zelda title available to play at any time. These games can be completely different, like Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, and Twilight Princess on the GameCube, or quite similar, like the famous Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask on the Nintendo 64.

What console do you think had the best Zelda games?

Keep in mind, we’re counting every available Zelda game, including remakes and spin-offs. On the Wii U, for example, there’s Wind Waker HD and Hyrule Warriors, as well as the upcoming Zelda U. Also, before this becomes a debate in the comments, both versions of Twilight Princess are equally legitimate, and they count on both the GameCube and Wii.

I suppose that for a lot of you, the choice will be really obvious: two of the biggest and most beloved Zelda games ever, Majora’s Mask and Ocarina of Time, are for the Nintendo 64. These games changed the world, and I do have to admit that they’re some of the best in the series, even if I personally prefer a couple others.

Then there’s the 3DS, that not only holds a remake of Ocarina of Time and an upcoming remake of Majora’s Mask (yay!), but an excellent original Zelda game in A Link Between Worlds, and probably another original game coming at some point in the following years; the 3DS definitely holds one of the strongest repertoires of any console when it comes to Zelda games, and it’s not even close to finishing.

But despite any sort of logical argument, I have to go with another console: The GameBoy Color. Not only did we have a remake of Link’s Awakening on here, we also had two original games, Oracle of Seasons and Ages, which I’ve always seen as two of the greatest titles in the entire series by far. If you haven’t played either, I strongly recommend buying them on the 3DS Virtual Console, as they’re definitely something worth experiencing.

What about you guys? What’s your favorite console for Zelda games and why? What consoles did you grow up playing on? Let us know in the comments!
