Daily Debate: Should Zelda and the King of Hyrule Have Reunited at the End of Breath of the Wild?

If there’s one thing I wish was in Breath of the Wild, it’s an extended ending with all of the other characters after Calamity Ganon is defeated. While I love how quiet and personal the main ending is, with Zelda and Link’s reunion rightfully being the main focus, I would have loved to see them interact with other characters. And there’s one reunion in particular that immediately sticks out to me — reuniting with the King of Hyrule, Zelda’s father.
Deceased from the events 100 years prior, the King of Hyrule’s spirit is unable to pass into the afterlife because of his mission to guide Link once he awakens. After he’s completed his duty though, he fades away and presumably passes on. I always thought this was disappointing because it robbed him of a reunion with his daughter. After all, in their flashbacks together, they don’t always see eye to eye. Does he regret the burden he placed on her? Does he wish he could apologize? Similarly, is there anything she wishes she could say to him or apologize for? What do you think? Should they have had a reunion in Breath of the Wild? Let us know in the comments!
