Four beautiful Great Fairies live among the vast wilds of Hyrule. In Breath of the Wild one must collect rupees to pay in tribute to the fairies in order for them to enhance your clothing. By the time you reach your fourth fairy you have to shell out 10,000 rupees! That’s a lot of money, especially if you’re still early in the game and want armor upgrades. This begs the question as to whether the player will have to pay tribute to Kayasa, Mija, Tera, and Cotera again when the Breath of the Wild sequel releases.

I really hope that the Breath of the Wild sequel reads data from Breath of the Wild. There are quite a few things to unlock while adventuring through Hyrule – Link’s house, building Tarrey Town, and of course, paying tribute to the Great Fairies. I would hope that if the player has paid once that they might not have to pay again. I think it would be a fun detail for the Fairies to remember the player based upon save data. That might be a big wish, but it would definitely be cool. If when the sequel is released and we have to pay again I would hope that the rupee cost wouldn’t be so drastic in scale. Going from 100, to 500, then to 1000, and finally 10,000 rupees can be a bit daunting. I was one of those players that wanted access to all of the fairies fairly early on so I could have a stronger defense. Maybe since Link has saved Hyrule once The Great Fairies would be grateful that he rediscovered their fountains in the first place and give him a bit of a discount.

What do you think? Should the player have to pay tribute to The Great Fairies in Breath of the Wild 2? Sound off in the comments below!
