Daily Debate: Should the Story of the Hyrulean Civil War be Further Developed?

The Hyrulean Civil War marked a dark period of time in the history of Hyrule. The people turned against each other in vicious, all-out combat, with only a smattering of stories to be told to the player. There are a few things we know, though:
- The war took place before the events of Ocarina of Time and raged on for years.
- Preceding the war, there was peace. The peoples of the land were content for ages, until word got out of the Sacred Realm and the Triforce within. Then, as word spread, people shed their cooperation, fighting one another to gain control over the prized holy relic.
- From the war, a mortally wounded mother fled with her baby, leaving him in the safety of the Kokiri Forest beneath the paternal gaze of the Great Deku Tree, to grow and meet his destiny in the years to come.
- In the end, the kingdom was unified beneath a single banner by the king of Hyrule, and the peoples of the land once more swore fealty.
