For hundreds of years, the Olympic games have been the ultimate celebration of sportsmanship and athleticism. Athletes from around the world train in a sport of their specialty — from volleyball to archery, to figure skating and gymnastics, the list of sports athletes can compete in for the Summer and Winter Olympics goes on. What if something like the Olympic games existed in the Zelda universe? Who would you pick to compete in which sport?

I have two picks — one for the Summer Olympics, and one for the Winter Olympics. If I could pick one Zelda character to participate in a Summer Olympic sport, I’d pick Breath of the Wild Link for archery. Breath of the Wild‘s iteration of Link seems to lean more heavily towards archery, as seen in his promotional art as well as in the 2015 trailer for the game. Link’s ability to slow down time while shooting arrows in Breath of the Wild would very much break the Olympics sport, but even without it, his ability to shoot incredibly accurately and quickly is unprecedented.

For the Winter Olympics, I pick Fi for figure skating. Fi may be more well-known for her dance moves, but I find that many of her moves in Skyward Sword more closely resemble figure skating more than dancing — particularly as she glides across the water at the springs. And since dancing isn’t an Olympic sport, figure skating is the closest sport that combines that artistry of dancing with the technicality of skating. After all, the performance of a figure skater is an important part of the scoring system, and Fi’s grace and musical inclination would give her a good shot at the Winter Olympics figure skating competition.

What do you think? If you could pick a Zelda character to participate in a Olympic sport, who would you pick?
