Let’s be real here: before the bombshell Nintendo dropped on us during the September 13th Direct, many of us had started to lose (or completely lost) faith in the sequel to Breath of the Wild. It almost became an Internet joke to mock their secrecy. A sort of painful chuckle, if you will. While many celebrated the Direct’s short sequel presentation, there were still murmurs of, “Why did it take so long?”

I don’t want to ponder why Nintendo kept their cards so close to their chest, because ultimately, they did, and by the time any news had been revealed, a bunch of fans had already just brushed off the game. To a point that, while I was scanning social media and manning the Zelda Dungeon Twitterverse, I actually saw a few people who lamented that the brief trailer at the end of the Direct wasn’t enough to get them interested in the game once more. A few more even said that, for the time we have waited for any news at all, they actually felt robbed of what could have been.

And we still don’t know what the game is about…

Now, me, personally, I screamed at the trailer, scaring my cat and my daughter with my glee. But I know that there are those who do not share my sentiments. So I turn to you, dear readers, and ask your thoughts on this matter. Did Nintendo’s long-held secrecy hurt the Tears of the Kingdom reveal? Let us know in the comments below!
