Has it really been four years since the release of Breath of the Wild? I was so young then, full of hope and anarchy as I shot fire arrows into Bokoblin camps. Ah, yes, those were the days.

Many musicians have graced us with their remixes and renditions over the years, but few have done so with live instruments. Enter studio violinist and arranger Patti Rudisill, who has gathered a party of incredible musicians to give us Memories of Hyrule. This fan album features eight exquisite tracks that feel like a soothing walk to a simpler time. What sets this album apart from other fan tributes is, simply, the instruments. Acoustically recorded tracks have a richness and depth to them that just hits the heart differently.

With the violin-focused arrangements, each track, from “Tarrey Town” to “Molduga Battle”, feels new. And all the best musical tributes accomplish this. They remind us why we love the music in the first place, while also giving us a new experience. Memories of Hyrule is available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. If you’d like to hear more of Rudisill’s work and video games covers, check out her YouTube and Instagram!

Have you listened to the album and, if so, what did you think? Are there any tracks you’d love to hear Rudisill cover in the future? As always, let us know in the comments!
