Another week, another podcast. Sadly, Nate is not with us this week. Due to lightning shorting out his router and computer, our original podcast was lost to the sands of time. However, fret not, for I, Alfred, have put together a mini podcast with two special guests! While Darrin is not so much a guest as he is a semi-regular member, we have the magnificent HMK with us again! We managed to hit on a few topics that we were going to address in the first podcast as well as discussing some new topics and developments that occurred between Monday and Thursday night. While there is no recorded video this time, I did throw together a visual aid to let you know what we’re talking about at each moment in the podcast. Also, this week, we also have, for the first time, time markers!

Music is a such an important theme in Zelda. Almost every game has you learning a new song or instrument. Although, rap music probably isn’t the first thing your mind comes to when you think of Zelda. Though few and far between, Zelda raps do exist and they turn out to be both smooth and unique. FabvL is a talented rap artist on YouTube who makes a ton of video game-related rap songs. His most recent release is based on Zelda, which is why we thought it was appropriate to share…

New The Legend of Zelda amiibo were announced during this morning’s Nintendo Direct live stream. The four new amiibo include Ocarina of Time Link, classic 8-bit Link, and a special bundle pairing Toon Link and Zelda from The Wind Waker. These figures will be compatible with the upcoming Breath of the Wild, though their special features are currently unknown, and will release December 2nd, 2016…

Us press sometime get all of the fun. At E3 2016 I got numerous Breath of the Wild T-Shirts and coins to go along with six and half times playing the demo. Now press at Gamescom are receiving Breath of the Wild Pillows and notebooks. Both are really interesting and unique pieces of Zelda merchandise the public will likely only ever get their hands on via ebay re-sellers. As I didn’t attend Gamescom (though it would certainly be a fun trip to go to one of these years)…

With Breath of the Wild‘s huge open world on the horizon, a lot of fans are excited for this big change from Skyward Sword‘s extremely linear style of gameplay. While open worlds are definitely a positive feature for a lot of AAA titles to have in today’s gaming industry, linear gameplay is often criticized, as it can become tiresome after experiencing an open world game. However, one man has set out to explain why he thinks linear Zelda games aren’t that bad…

These days, amiibo are everywhere. Inside of every single game that Nintendo pushes out to the world, there’s some kind of amiibo functionality. Most times, there’s nothing really wrong with that, in games like Smash Bros. you gain the ability to use fighters in a way you usually couldn’t, and that’s definitely fun…

In the game, Twilight Princess, we see that a veil of darkness is swept among the kingdom of Hyrule. Any regular citizen, whether they are Hylian, Goron or Zora, are affected in a devastating way once they come in contact with the twilight. As we see in the game, these bystanders become spirits themselves once engulfed in the twilight cloud. However, unlike his friends and everyone else, Link himself does not become a clueless spirit

but instead transforms into a “blue-eyed beast”…

As Zelda fans, we all know about the different songs that have given meaning to each of the different games and our lives as well. One of the most iconic song in  the Zelda series is none other than Zelda’s Lullaby. Over the years, there have been countless covers of this song ranging from piano, orchestral and even vocal.  All these different versions appeal to different fans of course, and this jazzy cover of Zelda’s Lullaby will have your foot tapping to its bouncy beat…
