Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch Has Sold Over 8.48 Million Units, 1.5 Million on Wii U

Nintendo has recently released an updated list of its best-selling Switch first-party titles. While Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe hold the top two spots, results have revealed that Breath of the Wild has taken third place with 8.48 million units sold. Plus, despite it being on a previous-gen system, the Wii U version even managed to sell over 1.5 million units.
Already having passed Twilight Princess in sales, it is only a matter of time before Breath of the Wild will surpass its predecessor Ocarina of Time. With a overall 11.6 million units sold between the N64 and 3DS versions, Ocarina of Time might lose its place as the top grossing Zelda title in the upcoming years.
