The Nintendo Direct released a lot of fantastic news for Breath of the Wild‘s sequel (we can finally stop calling it that now!) with a title announcement and a plethora of screenshots and stunning artwork. Something I found immediately eye-catching was the mysterious circular logo behind the title of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. In the trailer, the logo merges from two halves into an abstract spherical design, and I immediately began to wonder what it means.

There are a wide range of theories revolving around what this logo signifies. Does it refer to the circular nature of their fate to reincarnate and fight over and over? Is it an item, like a bracelet? Could it be a reference to the Zonai, a race alluded to in Breath of the Wild? It almost looks like two snakes consuming each other not unlike Ourobouros. Could it be a literal manifestation of their eternal struggle? There are so many things this logo could be signifying, and I can’t wait to learn more.

What do you think of the logo and its significance on Tears of the Kingdom‘s story? Let us know in the comments!
