New Link’s Awakening Patch Fixes Game-Breaking Bug, But Does Not Address Performance Issues
Posted on October 25 2019 by John Piland
As gorgeous as it is, Link’s Awakening for the Nintendo Switch isn’t without its flaws. Arguably the most troublesome of these is the ever-dropping frame rate, which has baffled experts since the game released last month. Some players have hoped that developer GREZZO would soon release a patch that would address the issue.
It seems these fans will have to wait to see Link’s Awakening’s frame rate issues fixed. The game’s first patch (Version 1.0.1), which released yesterday, is aimed solely towards fixing a game-breaking bug which would cause the game to lock up.
Here is the official description:
Ver. 1.0.1 (Released October 24, 2019)
- Fixed an error where certain conditions would cause Marin to stop moving in Toronbo Shores, and the game would lock up.
- Downloading this update will also fix saved games where the error is already in effect.
Are you satisfied with just this patch, or would you have preferred the frame rate drops to take precedence? Have you ever encountered this game-breaking bug? Let us know in the comments below!
