Link’s Awakening has been available for about a week, and hopefully many of you have gotten the chance to set foot on the new Koholint Island. The game is definitely a remarkably faithful adaptation of the 1993 classic, but it does feature its fair share of new content. From major additions such as the Chamber Dungeon to smaller, quality-of-life improvements to the game’s User Interface, there’s a bit more going on here than just a visual overhaul!

Speaking of visual overhauls, in my opinion, this iteration of Koholint Island just looks sublime. Recently, I spoke in favor of an alternative art style for the game, but I’m still crazy about the visuals on display. As much as I love the more traditional presentation of titles such as Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild, it’s always exciting to see a Zelda title boast such an “out-there” aesthetic. As of this writing, I’m yet to experience the game for myself, so this is all I can comment on right now.

So, whether you’ve played the game or have simply enjoyed the trailers, what’s your favorite new addition to Link’s Awakening? Have you grown particularly fond of the Chamber Dungeon mode, or are you mostly just sighing with relief toward the interface improvements? Let us know in the comments below!
