Daily Debate: What Do You Think Is The Most Emotional Moment In The Zelda Series?

The Legend of Zelda is full of emotional moments that the player can immerse themselves in. It’s a series where friendships blossom, promises are made and good-byes are heart-felt. But although there are many happy moments in the series, there are also many sad moments too.

Some of the more emotional moments in the Zelda series might be when Midna says good-bye to Link forever, in Twilight Princess. Or when Zelda seals herself in sleep during Skyward Sword, and Link’s devastation at her doing so is evident upon his face. Even the death of the Great Deku Tree in Ocarina of Time was a hard one to watch, especially after Link’s brave efforts to save him.

For me, the most emotional moment in the series was when Princess Zelda sent Link back to his childhood at the end of Ocarina of Time. She was giving him the gift of a peaceful and happy life; she wanted to remove the heavy burden of saving Hyrule from Link’s shoulders. It was such a kind action to take, and the only way that Princess Zelda could possibly repay his sacrifice.
