Photoshop Contest: Let’s Make Zelda Fabulous
Posted on April 11 2015 by Rod Lloyd
Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest is back, and we’re about to get fabulous. This week, you fans will be given the chance to take elements of the Zelda series and construct the finest examples of fabulosity we’ve ever seen. I’m not even sure if fabulosity is a word, you can make it so! Before we set off this to-be-amazing Week of Fab, we’ll also take a look at last week’s contest: Bigfoot Pizza Initiative.
Last Week’s Contest:
I had to take a small hiatus last week, so thanks to our intern for stepping in to handle last week’s contest. I believe his name was… Reginald?
Whatever the case, fans were asked to recreate Pizza Hut’s success with the Bigfoot Pizza within the world of Nintendo. Reginald’s idea may have been a bit high-concept for many, but the few entries we did have were truly amazing. In fact, both accepted the Challenge Mode rules. (Note to Reginald: don’t change the name of the Challenge Mode anymore)
Best Submissions
Artist: Kyle Ian Thomas
Monkee-goro has usurped Kyle Ian Thomas from his Challenge Mode throne with this week’s winning entry. Both contestants included at least six Nintendo characters enjoying Pizza Hut eateries, but Monkee-goro’s entry had the wild and crazy presentation we all appreciate. Plus there was more pizza. Reginald was adamant about the pizza.
This Week’s Contest: Let’s Make Zelda Fabulous
With characters like Ghirahim and Tingle hamming it up in recent Zelda titles, there hasn’t really been a shortage of fabulousness lately. But it’s my opinion that there can never be enough fabulous; I’m sure we can all agree on that. So this week, we’re asking you fans to construct images that show off exactly how fabulous a Zelda title can be.
We want to see all the flashiness, flamboyance, panache, and excess that one would expect from the word “fabulous.” Imagine it this way: what if Ghirahim himself was creating a Zelda game? We’ve included some suitably fabulous images in our gallery to help you get started, but feel free to use anything from the internet to make your fabulous dream a reality.
General Rules:
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
- Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
- Have fun and be creative!
Deadline: Submit entries no later than next Wednesday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on April 15. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.
Challenge Mode
For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have some Challenge Rules for you to follow:
1. Your entry must include a disco ball.
2. Your entry must include Purple Link driving a purple car of some kind.
If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.
Good luck!
