" You got the Kokiri Sword! On the Equipment Subscreen, select it with the cursor and equip it with (A). This is a hidden treasure of the Kokiri, but you can borrow it for a while. Be sure to practice with it before you really fight!"

— In-game blurb in Ocarina of Time

The Kokiri Sword is a sword from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. It is the default sword of Young Link in the former.

Ocarina of Time

The Kokiri Sword is a sacred treasure of the Kokiri. It is a shortsword with a wooden crossguard, dirty brown hilt, and wooden pommel - the cross-guard has two small extensions on either side of the blade, and a ruby with gold accents is embedded in the center.

The Kokiri Sword is found in a hidden Treasure Chest in the Forest Training Center - to find the Treasure Chest, Link must crawl through a small hole at the end of the Training Center. Link must have both the Kokiri Sword and a Deku Shield before Mido allows him to meet the Great Deku Tree. The blade is Young Link's default sword, being replaced by the Master Sword once Link is an adult.

Majora's Mask

"Kokiri Sword The trusty sword you're familiar with that's from Kokiri Forest."

— In-game description

Link begins the game with the Kokiri Sword, having kept it following the events of Ocarina of Time. The Kokiri Sword's appearance has been altered in this game - the cross-guard is now a yellow, rectangular piece of metal with two sphere-shaped indents, the grip is now white, and the pommel is now a blue gem with a gold tip. The Kokiri Sword is Link's default sword, but can be upgraded temporarily to the Razor Sword, and then permanently to the Gilded Sword, at the Mountain Smithy.

After Link obtains the Hero's Bow, the Kokiri Sword can be stolen by Takkuri. If so, it can be regained by either using the Song of Time to reset the time loop, or buying it back from the Curiosity Shop (which labels it as "Good Sword") for 50 Rupees.

Cadence of Hyrule

This article describes a subject that is or may be outside the core Zelda canon.
See also: Jeweled Dagger

In Cadence of Hyrule, the Kokiri Sword is a Legendary Weapon found in the Future World, that only Link or Shadow Link can wield. It deals four points of damage per hit, but will only hit an enemy directly in front of Link. Upon obtaining it the Dagger equivalent, the Jeweled Dagger, is unlocked for Cadence and Zelda.
