It may not be the most popular or well known game in the Zelda canon, but The Minish Cap stands in many gamers’ memories as a unique, worthwhile title that often doesn’t get its due. This week, we decided to reflect on the game by asking Zelda Dungeon staff to rank their Top 5 items from the game. Which items do you most fondly remember from The Minish Cap? Did you love or loathe kinstones? Where is Vaati these days? As always, leave your own…

Hello everybody and welcome to the latest edition of Zelda Dungeon Talks. Today, we are going to be finding out what various staff members believe are the positives of their least favorite Zelda game. We all have that one Zelda game that holds a special place in our hearts, that one game that we can call our favorite. On the other hand we also have that one Zelda game that stands out as the worst we have played, that one…

Youtube user Dr. Willy has an earth-shattering theory that will rattle our community to its core, changing how we view the Zelda series as we know it: cuccos are the most powerful beings in the Zeldaverse due to their gift of immortality…

It’s time again for ZI’s weekly Photoshop Contest, but as many of you are aware, this week has seen a bit of heartbreak. Last weekend, just a few days after the start of last week’s contest, we tragically lost one of the game industry’s biggest heroes, Satoru Iwata. He was hugely important to me and to many others, so this week’s contest will serve as a way to honor his memory. Let’s quickly look back at last week’s contest: Misusing the Minish Cap, and we can then show our respects to Satoru Iwata…

Howdy, everyone! I’m back for yet another bout of ZI’s weekly Photoshop Contest. This week, our focus is on everyone’s favorite magical talking hat, Ezlo: The Minish Cap. Many of you may remember Ezlo as a very useful companion in Link’s adventure, offering invaluable advice and the unique ability to shrink.  In this contest, however, we’re actually going to invent ways for our hero (or anyone) to misuse the magical Minish Cap. Before we utter even more alliterations though, we’ll need to first look at the winners of last week’s contest: Zelda Does America.

There are many brave souls that we encounter throughout The Legend of Zelda series but only one who gets the most fanfare and appreciation for all his trials and tribulations. What about those other characters, that if not for them our green-clad hero would never have achieved his goals; are they not heroes too? What makes a true hero? If you look up the definition of hero you will find that it says: “a person, who is admired or idealized…

There was only one Legend of Zelda game developed specifically for the Game Boy Advance: The Minish Cap. Unfortunately, due to A Link to the Past being ported to the GBA from the SNES, it seems as though The Minish Cap went mostly under the radar which is a huge shame as it’s a great game. YouTuber YuriofWind’s Obscure Gaming series has recently looked into a Chinese bootleg Zelda game that was released for the NES which seems to be…

In today’s gaming market, one can find a surplus of 3D console and handheld games with stunning shaded visuals. On the flip-side, many developers are starting to create pixelated 2D games using new hardware that allows for more colors and faster movement. While the last few Zelda titles in the franchise have been 3D games, should Nintendo go ahead and revisit the good old 2D formula once again…

Stories of valiant knights, princes and other heroes who fight for their beloved ladies are some of the oldest and most beloved stories in human history. Perhaps even THE oldest, depending on your interpretation of the Epic of Gilgamesh. So it was to be expected that a concept as basic as fighting for those you care about eventually ended up in The Legend of Zelda, or at least have fans ascribe it to individual games. But is there any truth…

Rings make for handy magic items: they’re small, lightweight and are easy to carry in addition to your other magical gear. Finding magic rings in the Zelda games is always useful to either continue in the game, make Link tough enough to more easily survive the later dungeons or even give him a variety of bonuses. But they have only appeared in 2D games, with the last time being The Minish Cap. Perhaps it is time for them to make…
