It seems today is the day for announcements about Zelda-themed 3DS accessories! We’ve seen a sweet 3DS XL Triforce pouch, some awesome-looking New Nintendo 3DS XL clip armor, and now a Hylian Shield pouch capable of holding any DS unit.

I would describe it to you in my own words, but I don’t think I can do much better than the official GameStop description…

Nintendo news collector NintenDaan has tweeted many details on Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day, the first DS game to be released on Wii U Virtual Console in Japan. This could very well be an indication that Nintendo will announce more DS games on it at E3, including Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Hit the jump for several tweets with details on the game and how the console handles it.

The Wind Waker introduced a different sort of Zelda overworld, one that we had never experienced before. The concept behind its open-seas transportation was taken further on the DS with the release of Phantom Hourglass. In an attempt to implement the DS’s touch screen, the sailing was replaced this time with steamboat navigation. All Link had to do was draw a line on the map to his destination and the ship would sail there. With that, the DS games created…

So top-down Zelda games are back. That should be encouraging news for all Zelda fans–they had an uncertain future, as the handheld market has changed dramatically since The Minish Cap graced the GBA. The Game Boy Advance and DS handhelds felt very much like spiritual successors Super Nintendo. At its outset, the Game Boy Advance offered a very traditional 16-bit RPG (Golden Sun, of course), a remastered Mario game, and a Mario Kart game that was regressive in the best…

Hello Zelda Dungeoners, and welcome to today’s Flute Boy’s Meadow! For this week’s feature I felt it would be appropriate to answer two common requests I’ve received in the past few weeks, especially since the songs are from the same game. First, following my Companion Themes series there was a lot of love shown for Linebeck. The cowardly but lovable ship captain from Phantom Hourglass was unfortunately excluded from my companions series because he is not technically the game’s companion….

Control Schemes

November 10 2012 by Hanyou

A good control scheme is absolutely necessary to an enjoyable experience in a Zelda game. The Legend of Zelda set the tone for the games to come with a simple control scheme based on intuitive item-swapping. It was straightforward, and the number of items meant that switching was never too obnoxious. Link’s Awakening used a similar control scheme, improving the interface and item-swapping but adding a multitude of items that sometimes made it more difficult to pin down what you…

Recently artist, blogger and French Zelda fan Oskunk decorated his black Nintendo DS Lite with some awesome custom art. It features Link as the centerpiece, with the bottom half of the DS logo covering his cute little mouth. The words “Zelda” and “Link” are written on ribbons on both sides of Link’s body. It looks like quite a bit of effort was poured into etching the design onto the front of the DS. Now who wouldn’t want this bad boy?…

For those of you who missed out on getting the 25th Anniversary Zelda 3DS, there’s still a chance to get that Legend of Zelda look for your 3DS that you’ve been dying for. How is this possible, you may ask? Well if you head on over to Etsy.com, there’s a variety of decals available from various sellers that you can stick onto your favorite Nintendo handheld, whether it be DS, DSi, DSiXL, or 3DS! Some of the stores even sell decals…

Well dang, guys! E3’s less than a week away. Only a few days really! Another video, sort of related. This one doesn’t actually specifically talk about Zelda Wii, but rather some things that have been suggested for the Zelda series that a lot of people have been talking about. Some of them have talked about them in Zelda Wii (as is inevitable when discussing future ideas). It seemed appropriate for me to go over them. Some of these are ideas…
