Oracle of Ages Walkthrough - Quick Guide: Chapter 2 - Wing Dungeon

~Fairies' Woods ~
  • From Spirit's Grave walk up a screen and you'll likely run into Maple, a witch that drops items when you bump into her.
  • Walk to the left a screen and lift the rock to talk to the Poe. Take him inside, talk to him, and he'll give you the first item in the trade sequence, the Poe Clock.
  • Exit the Yoll Graveyard by heading right, up two screens, left, down, and left two screens.
  • Go up, left down, and left to get back into Lynna City.
  • Make your way to the west part of town, just to where the entrance to the Black Tower Construction site was in the past. Go west to leave town.
  • Lift the block using the power bracelet and continue left a screen.
  • Walk down, right, down, left, down, left, and up to meet the fairies of Fairies' Woods. This triggers a game of hide n seek where you must find the three fairies.
  • Fairy #1 (Blue) Walk Up, Down, Up, and then lift the rock to find the first fairy. Walk to the right to get back to the starting point.
  • Fairy #2 (Red) Walk Right, then Left, and slash the bush at the bottom-left to find the second fairy. Walk to the right to get back to the starting point.
  • Fairy #3 (Orange) Walk Right, then Down, and slash the bottom bush to find the third fairy.
  • Fairies' Woods will return to normal. Walk to the right to find the entrance to an Ancient Cave. Lift the rock and the dungeon will collapse right then than there.

  • ~The Harp of Ages~
  • After hearing from the Maku Tree, you must go to Nayru's house. Head up and make your way back to the Village.
  • Run on over to the Maku Tree and head right. Jump off the ledge, head down a screen, then right, and up to get to Nayru's House.
  • Move the statue that is just above Impa and walk up through the secret passage.
  • Walk down the steps and obtain the Harp of Ages. Link will hear from Nayru and learn the Tune of Echoes, which allows Link to activate time portals to travel from past to present.
  • Exit Nayru's house, equip the Harp of Ages, and play the Tune of Echoes to activate the portal.
  • Enter it to return to the past.

  • ~Mystery Seeds and Bombs~
  • Walk left, down, and left, to get back to Lynna Village.
  • Walk on over to the entrance to the Black Tower, pick up the rocks blocking the way, and exit the town to the west.
  • Walk left a screen, down a screen, right along the lower path, down, and left to get back to the Dungeon that crumbled in the present.
  • You need bombs in order to enter the dungeon.
  • From just outside the dungeon, go left, up, left, down, and down.
  • There is a bush that can be burned down to reveal a cave. Inside the cave there is another heart piece. Get it and exit the cave.
  • Continue left, burn down the tree, head up, right, up, pick up the rocks, and head down the steps into a cave.
  • Walk to the right side, cut down the bushes, and make your way around the cave to the staircase at the other end. Exit the cave.
  • Walk down a screen and slash at the bush to get Mystery Seeds.
  • Walk back up a screen and enter the cave.
  • Make your way back through the cave to get back to the entrance where you initially came in. (If you didn't get a shield yet, walk to the west end of the cave, exit it and purchase one from a business scrub for 10 rupees).
  • Once you exit the cave from where you initially came in, walk down a screen and a guard will show up, seeing that you have found some mystery seeds.
  • You will automatically be warped over to Queen Ambi's Palace and taken into the courtyard to meet with Queen Ambi. In exchange for the mystery seeds, Ambi will give Link 10 bombs.

  • ~Enter the Wing Dungeon~
  • Make your way back to the Dungeon we saw in the Fairies' Woods. Exit Lynna Village to the west, and then head left, down, right, down, and left.
  • Place a bomb at the entrance of the dungeon to blow open a hole. Enter it to take on the second level, the Wing Dungeon.

  • ~Wing Dungeon~
  • Walk up a screen to find some spiked beetles. Use your shield to flip them upside down and slash away to defeat them. Go through the door on the left.
  • There is a colored block in the middle of the room. Push it right three times, down once, left once, up once, and left six times and it will land on red, opening the door.
  • Push the right block up and defeat the Rope's in the room. Continue heading up another screen.
  • Walk left two screens and defeat the blue pig moblins and keese found here. Collect the key that is left and then backtrack all the way to the second room in the dungeon where we fought the spiked beetles with our shield.
  • Use the small key we got on the locked door to the right.
  • Defeat all the ropes and then place a bomb along the south end of the wall where it looks cracked.
  • Walk down a room and go down the steps to get to an underground path.
  • Make your way across the moving platforms, avoiding the keese along your way. You can trigger the giant thwomp to fall, and while it is recoiling back up, you can run across. Resurface at the end of the cave.
  • Defeat the ropes here and open the treasure chest that appears to get a small key.
  • Backtrack through the underground area and then head up a screen. With all the ropes defeated in this room, push the block to the left or right and then head up a screen.
  • Defeat the pig moblins and go through the locked door on the left side of the room.
  • Jump on the mine cart and let it ride you to the other end of the dungeon.
  • Once the cart stops, walk up a screen to face the dungeon mini-boss, Swoop.
  • Swoop will fly in the air and occasionally come crashing down on top of Link, attempting to squash him. This will create a hole in the ground so be careful. Once Swoop misses Link, he is vulnerable for a few moments, so quickly slash at him. After he gets hit a few times, Swoop will start jumping three times, creating three holes, so be careful. Just repeat the same process several times until Swoop has been defeated. Grab the fairy that is left behind and head through the door at the northeast part of the room.
  • Go down the steps found here and then head down a screen.
  • Maneuver around the room, avoiding the spears that are tossed by the shrouded stalfos and head right a screen.
  • Go down the steps to the underground area here and make your way across the room and pick up the dungeon item, the Roc's Feather. This item will allow Link to jump. Exit the underground area the way you came in.
  • Defeat the shrouded stalfos here and you'll notice there is a red block and a yellow tile. Jump over the yellow tile and it will turn blue. Jump over it on more time and it will change to yellow, opening the doors. Go through the door on the right.
  • Jump over the holes in this room and jump into the cart on the right side of the screen.
  • Ride the cart and slash at the lever, which will change the tracks. This will cause the cart to stop in this room. Jump off the cart and place a bomb against the cracked wall on the right side of the room. Go through to the next room.
  • Defeat the keese and shrouded stalfos and open the treasure chest that appears for a small key. Head back left a screen.
  • Push the block left, up, right, and up, causing the boom barrier to come up, allowing the train to pass. Jump on the cart and ride it to the next room.
  • First off, defeat the two peahats in this room. You'll see four floor titles and right next to it, four colored blocks. Jump over the floor titles until the color patterns match perfectly with that of the blocks on the left. This will cause a small key to drop down, so grab it and then head left a screen.
  • Back in this familiar room, go back up the stairs at the northwest part of the screen.
  • Use a small key on the locked block and walk to the south end of the room. Jump off the ledge to the left and head down a screen.
  • Jump across the gaps and defeat the keese. Jump on over the tile and jump over it until it turns blue, causing the boom barrier to come up.
  • Go back up a screen, then left, and back right a screen through the top passage. Climb the steps and jump onto the cart on the right side of the room.
  • When the cart stops, defeat the enemies and open the treasure chest for a gasha seed if you'd like. Head up a screen.
  • Jump over the gap and defeat the two blue pig moblins and the two peahats. There is a floor switch that you need to push one of the pots onto. Break the three pots that are along the wall using the power bracelet. Then push the fourth block up five times, right three times, down twice, and right three more times to land it on the switch. Go through the open door to the right.
  • Walk down a screen and defeat the moblins here. There is a setup of 9 blocks on the left, and then 9 unorganized blocks on the right. Push the 9 blocks on the right so that they perfectly match up with how the 9 blocks on the left are setup. However, you can only push the blocks to which the colored floor tile is. So you'll have to jump over it with the Roc's Feather. Once all blocks are in place a small key will appear. Grab it and head back up a screen.
  • Use one of the small keys and go through the locked door on the right.
  • There are a number of gel in this room, but they will change color to match the floor. You have to use Roc's Feather to jump over the center title to change the color of the ground, and then quickly defeat the gel. Repeat this process until all gel have been defeated and then open the treasure chest appears to get the boss key.
  • Go back left a screen and use the small key on the locked door at the top of the room.
  • Go through the room and use the boss key on the door to the right.
  • Go down the steps to take on the dungeon boss, Head Thwomp.
  • Climb the steps on the left or right side of the room. In order to defeat Head Thwomp, you must toss a bomb into its head from the top, exactly when his face is red. This takes some timing, and gets a bit more difficult as the fight goes on since its head start turning a bit faster. At the beginning of the battle when its head is moving slow, you can stand at the top of the steps and once its head turns from blue to purple, toss a bomb so it lands right when it turns red. Repeat this process and time it a bit quicker as the battle goes in. If you run low on bombs, Head Thwomp will occasionally toss bombs out for you. Be careful though, if you toss a bomb inside when its Green, Blue, or Purple, Head Thwomp will have various attacks that are harmful. Repeat this process until Head Thwomp has been defeated.
  • Get the Heart Container that is left for you and then head down the staircase on the right side of the room.
  • Head right a screen and collect the Ancient Wood, the second Essence of Time.
  • The Maku Tree then tells you the next essence is at the south sea's Crescent Island.
