Equipment

Raft
 - The Raft is found in Dungeon 3 in the First Quest and Dungeon 4 in the Second Quest. It is required to reach Dungeon 4 in the First Quest. Link can use this item to cross small bodies of water if there is a dock present. He cannot change directions while on the Raft.

Magic Book
 - The Magic Book is found in Dungeon 8 in the First Quest and Dungeon 4 in the Second Quest. Its only purpose is as an upgrade to the Magic Rod which lets the rod shoot fire in addition to the beam it already shoots. This fire will light up rooms as well, making the Red and Blue Candles useless. It is an optional item.

Rings
    - The Blue and Red Rings both increase your defense power, the Blue Ring increasing it by two times the original and the Red increasing it by four. The Blue Ring can be purchased for 250 rupees from the secret shop in both quests and the Red Ring can be found in Dungeon 9 or Death Mountain in both quests.

Stepladder
 - The Stepladder can be used to cross small rivers, which can be used as shortcuts in the overworld. It’s required in some dungeons to progress. It’s found in Dungeon 4 in the First Quest and Dungeon 6 in the Second Quest.

Magical Key
 - The Magical Key replaces all keys in the game as it acts as a skeleton key opening all doors and never breaking. It makes tackling dungeons much faster and is found in Dungeon 8 in both quests.

Power Bracelet
 - The Power Bracelet is used to push boulders you couldn’t before. It lets you use the various warp portals across Hyrule. It is found under an Armos Statue in northern Hyrule. It is optional.



Items

Boomerangs
    - The Boomerang can be used to grab far away items and can also stun enemies. Some weaker enemies, such as the Keese are killed by this making it an effective weapon against large swarms of them. The Magical Boomerang replaces the Wooden variety and has increased range, making it span the entire room. It is optional and the Wooden Boomerang is found in Dungeon 1 in both quests and the Magical Boomerang is found in Dungeon 2 in the First Quest and Dungeon 3 in the Second Quest

Bombs
 - The Bombs are used as an effective weapon or to blow open walls to find secrets or progress in dungeons. It can be purchased from certain stores or dropped from some enemies such as Blue Octoroks.

Bow and Arrows
      - The Arrows and Bow are combined to be a very useful weapon, with sacrifice from your wallet. The Silver Arrows upgrade the Arrows to be stronger and are the only thing to defeat Ganon. The Arrows can be purchased from shops across Hyrule, and the Silver Arrows are found in Dungeon 9 in both quests. The Bow is found in Dungeon 1 in the First Quest and Dungeon 5 in the Second Quest.

Blue and Red Candles
    - The Candles are used to light up dark rooms. The Blue Candle is found in shops and the Red Candle is found in Dungeon 7 in the First Quest.   

Whistle
 - The Whistle is used to kill a certain boss and make certain things appear. It is found in Dungeon 5 in the First Quest.

Bait
 - The Bait is used to feed hungry Goriyas in dungeons that are blocking your path. It is found in the hidden and expensive shop.

Letter and Medicine
      - The Blue Medicine restores some of your life while the Red Medicine restores all of it. Find the Letter and show it to the Old Woman.   

Magic Wand
 - The Magic Wand lets you shoot magical beams just like the Wizzrobes do. It is found in Dungeon 6 in the First Quest.



Swords

Wooden Sword
 - The Wooden Sword is given to you at the begining of the game from the Old Man. It is the main weapon in the game, but does little damage. As soon as you can, I reccomend upgrading.

White Sword
 - The White Sword is found above the Waterfall in Northern Hyrule. The Old Man will give it to you once you are ready for it (AKA, you have 5 Heart Containers or more) It is twice as powerful as the Wooden Sword.

Magical Sword
- The Magical Sword is twice as powerful as the White Sword and four times as powerful as the Wooden Sword. You need at minimum 12 Heart Containers in order to be 'ready' for this upgrade.

  - In the First Quest it is found under a Gravestone in the Graveyard, so you'll need the Power Bracelet to get it. In the Second Quest it is found in a rock formation of an arrow where you need to push the tip of the arrow to reveal the cave, also requiring the rock formation.



Shields

Wooden Shield
 - The Wooden Shield is your default Shield. You are given it at the beginning of the game and the only way to get rid of it is to purchase the Magical Shield. If a Like-Like eats your Magical Shield, you are given back your Wooden Shield

Magical Shield
 - The Magical Shield can be purchased from most shops in Hyrule. The price varies, but the lowest price is 90 Rupees. It can block more attacks than your Wooden Shield such as Wizrobes beams, and Zola's fireballs. If you are swallowed by a Like Like and don't escape in time, it will eat your Magical Shield forcing you to go back to your Wooden Shield.
