Zelda U Reveal Trailer Filmed on a Wii U Engine, not Pre-Rendered

The new E3 trailer for Zelda U, shown off earlier today to very mixed reactions (personally, I think it’s the most beautiful and perfect thing I’ve ever seen), was filmed entirely on a Wii U console. The amazing-looking trailer was not pre-rendered—it’s real footage.
The trailer wasn’t filmed from a gameplay perspective, as is obvious from the camera angles, but it is completely real, according to a Nintendo representative.
