Video Review of Skyward Sword from Machinima

The website Machinima.com has recently posted their video review of Skyward Sword. They are more than impressed with the game as they put it “It’s like playing a fantastic dream of which you don’t want to wake.” The article is separated into separate categories each they focus on one at a time starting with gameplay, then moving on to graphics, controls, and later sound. While they were impressed with the game in most areas they did talk about the weakness of the Wii holding back the graphics. However they were amazed with the controls and gameplay enough to say that they would definitely recommend the game without hesitation to anyone. Later saying that to ignore it because it was on the Wii would be a shame. Near the end they gave Skyward Sword a 9.5/10.

I thought this was very well made, the guys at Machinima have proven themselves to again be a great name in video game news and reviews. The reviewer seemed to be at odds a few times in the video. Sometimes they were genuinely impressed with what they saw but would then would return to talk about the weaknesses of the Wii. I got the impression that they were fans of the game itself but might not particularly be fans of the Wii console. The graphical drawbacks of the Wii have not been a problem to me as I honestly do not see the limitations of the Wii as that great of a shortcoming. Skyward Sword is still an incredibly fun game to play regardless of the power behind it and the reviewer even said that this was still one of the greatest games period.
