Ocarina of Time. When the game is mentioned, we are flooded with memories, emotions, and nostalgia. A lot of us spent years and years figuring out every little thing the game had to offer. Eventually after discovering the last heart pieces, collecting all of the Poe souls, and doing everything Nintendo wanted us to do with the game, we started going beyond what they had programmed for us to do. This opened up entirely new ways to play the game and lead to discovering many different things left behind in the game.

Many of us know of the countless glitches found in the game and a few unused secrets hidden in the coding, but recently something a bit more interesting has popped up. The user cen on the Unseen64 forums has came across a cutscene left out of the final game. The scene is a simple one, used when walking into Zelda’s Courtyard. Make the jump inside for all that cen has to say about it along with a few pictures he was able to snag of it.

Someone asked for a video or code of the unused cutscene in Zelda’s Court Yard – so there it is. I don’t think there is anything else to be found in Ocarina of Time unless I somehow got ahold of the Spaceworld Prototypes.

Go into Zelda’s Courtyard with that gameshark code activated, preferably activating it right before you enter and then use the left and right side buttons when the text gets stuck while talking to Zelda.
Use the right button first, and then L after when she says “And the legend goes like this.”
Talk to her instead of skipping ahead, her text has to be up when you hit R and then when it reaches the sky hit L.

This is probably the earliest known cutscene because the data is actually embedded in Zelda’s actor rather than the map itself. It is also the reason that there are those rays of light behind the Window.

I think its amazing how after so many years fans are finding even more secrets within this game. Makes me think of how many secrets are hidden within Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, or any other Zelda game. Maybe its just people looking for small hints of what Zelda URA could have been that leads them to find so many left overs from what could have been. Also if you’re interested in finding out even more about Zelda URA then be sure to check out more at Unseen64 and Zeth64’s YouTube account, where he is trying to recreate the world lost when the 64DD was cancelled.

What are your thoughts on this unused cutscene? What else do you think is hidden within the coding of Ocarina of Time? Better yet, what do you wish would be hidden within the coding? Let us know in the comments below.
