Ubisoft Included a Zelda Easter Egg in Far Cry 5

Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 released earlier this week to much fanfare. Beyond the exploration and gunplay one would expect from the long-running action-adventure series, we were surprised to learn that a small Easter Egg from the iconic The Legend Zelda (NES) has been discovered in this new title as well. The well-known line, “It’s dangerous to go alone. Take this,” makes an appearance at the beginning of the game, on a post-it note on an open locker door. The note even contains a small drawing of an 8-bit sword and a smiley face. The Easter Egg Hunter uploaded a video a day before Far Cry 5‘s release, showing off the subtle nod to Link’s first adventure.
