I know lots of people who say that it is faster to roll than to walk in the 3D Zelda games. I have done it as well because it just seems to be faster. I roll all over the place and Link’s noises used to bug me but by now I am just used to all the grunts and noises that Link makes while rolling across wide open spaces. I have also heard that rolling does nothing and is not faster or that rolling and walking are the same and there is no difference. The question, though, is whether it really is faster, slower or just the same as walking? Acting on a kind of basis like the “Mythbusters” TV show, Nintendojo has put together a video and put all of our ponderings at a rest. Take the jump to check out what ended up being their conclusion.

I had a feeling that the majority of Zelda fans couldn’t be wrong. There is still going to be debate about this no doubt but at least it was an interesting video. Rolling is most definitely my favorite way of traveling when it comes between rolling or walking. I guess it pays to be on a roll (pun intended). Bad puns aside though, What did you guys think of the video? Does this inspire you to do your own experimentation in walk/roll timing or do you not even care that much? Let us know in the comments!
