Theory Video Asks What Would Happen If There Was No Master Sword

The Master Sword, the blade of evil’s bane, is undoubtedly one of the most iconic swords in gaming, and for good reason. This blade has the power to smite evil, seal it, and even act as a key to prevent its return. But what would happen if the master sword were to vanish without a trace after the events of Skyward Sword, the first game in the timeline in which it appeared? Would Hyrule be doomed without it? To answer these questions, YouTube’s Dr. Wily has once again proposed a intriguing theory presented in the video above.

In the video, Dr. Wily examines the blade’s role, mainly as a tool to defeat Ganondorf at full force, and then suggests what would happen when it’s gone. Among other solutions, he suggests that the Silver Arrows, Light Arrows, or the Four Sword be used instead, though the Silver Arrows appeared only in two games (The Legend of Zelda for the NES and A Link to the Past), and the Light Arrows and Four Sword might not have a strong chance of defeating Ganondorf.
