The Wind Waker Metal Medley

One of the greatest parts of the Zelda series is its music, and fans cover that music in their own ways all the time. One of my favorites among these fans, YouTube artist FamilyJules7X, recently updated with a new Zelda cover: a seven minute medley of music from The Wind Waker. Jules’ musical style tends to lean toward rock and heavy music, and he certainly does not disappoint in this impressive medley. Jump in to hear it!

The medley begins cheerfully with the themes from The Great Sea, Outset Island (1:25), and Windfall Island (3:13). From there, he goes full-on with his metal style with the heavier themes of The Cursed Great Sea (4:11) and Molgera Boss Battle (4:49) before topping the whole deal off with Dragon Roost Island (5:53), keeping with his trend of putting his favorite song from a game at the end of its medley.

As I said before, FamilyJules7X is one of my favorite YouTube cover artists, and I think this may be one of my absolute favorites from him. The transition from Windfall Island to the Cursed Great Sea was amazing, and I enjoyed his use of the ocarina for the Outset Island section. All around a great compilation.

This is far from the first Zelda medley Jules has made, though. In the past, he has done medleys from A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and Twilight Princess. He has also covered individual selections like the Shooting Gallery, Faron Woods, Ocarina of Time’s Mini-Boss Theme, Twinrova‘s song, and the Spirit Tracks Overworld Theme which we reported on a few weeks back. He has also worked with artist CSGuitar89 on a Hyrule Field cover. If you enjoy Zelda music and are a fan of heavy rock/metal music, you owe it to yourself to check out Jules’s channel. The man has serious talent.
