The making of Prima’s Zelda Box Set

2_SheetsEver wonder how the things you buy are put together? Well, in anticipation of the release of their new Zelda Box Set, Prima’s uploaded some pictures and information about just how they make the treasure chest box! Though a lot of details went into the design of the box, the actual manufacturing process seems relatively simple, especially because there’s a limited number of them being produced.

Hit the jump for some pictures and information!

This is how the boxes start out: with cut blank board. The ones in the picture below will be made into the lid of the chest.

These printed sheets are also cut and ready to be applied to the underlying boards.

Further down the line the magnets that secure the lid to the rest of the box are put on by hand.

After the inner and outer linings are applied to make the box look like a chest, the lid and the box are married by hand.

For the full process, be sure to check out Prima’s original article on their website.

Pretty fascinating, huh? Perhaps it’s just the way they choose to write the article, but it seems that the making of the box is a lot simpler than I thought it would be. Sometimes it’s the simple things that work the best, though.

What do you think? Will you be getting this? Let us know in the comments!
