In honor of the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo has been doing a lot of spectacular things. Hosting huge events all over the world and having a world tour featuring orchestrated music from the Zelda series. In fact so much has been going on that it is hard to keep up with everything, but it’s not only Nintendo that is celebrating. Many fans are taking this special moment and celebrating in their own way. We have seen a lot of incredible fan art, amazing remixes of original Zelda songs and even one certain fan writing his own song about how Shigeru Miyamoto and the Zelda series has changed his life. With no surprise comes another completely original and creative idea. The YouTube user ajminifigure a brickflimer has created a stop motion lego adventure in honor of the 25th Anniversary.

The Legend of Zelda: Blades of Shadow is a short film series that started on September 17th and as of now only has one episode, but with atleast two more in the works with the third promised to be posted on the same day as the release of Skyward Sword. The story follows Link as he is asked to deliver a package for an unnamed friend. While he is on his way through the forest with the item he is captured by a guard wielding an axe and thrown into a dungeon where he is briefed by a wizard claiming to be the new ruler of Hyrule. Link is told to wait until his return and the video ends. It’s a very straight forward plot played out in a really cool way. Take the jump to check out it out for yourself.

Personally I love when fans take time out of their life to show appreciation for something they love by creating stuff like this. Fan art can come in a variety of different forms and when I see something original like this I just can’t wait to see more. Sure it has a basic beginning and didn’t really let us know what the package was or the names of the characters, but it is still a very unique way of telling a Zelda story. The fact that he took the time to record this one frame at a time shows us that he is a true Zelda fan. With this only being the first video I’m sure it is going to get better as it goes. I know I’m already tuning in for the next video just to learn the name of the villain and to find out how Link escapes.

Have you seen fan art like this before? What exactly is in the package and how will Link escape?
