Welcome to Majora’s Memes, where we bring you memetic madness weekly! Like scouring Hyrule Field for bushes that hopefully contain Rupees or bombs or arrows, we search the Internet for Zelda-related laughs. This week we saw better response to the request for help finding those laughs. Special thanks to Bear, Maeta Harunai, and Hero of Time for contributing. Unfortunately, we did not use Bear’s. We try to maintain at least a level of family-friendliness here. Granted, this is the Internet,…

Mystery of the Lost Woods

January 18 2013 by Djinn

The Lost Woods is one of the more well-known recurring overworld regions in the Zelda series. First appearing in the original Legend of Zelda, the Lost Woods have become a mainstay in the landscape of Hyrule, alongside Death Mountain and Lake Hylia. In most appearances the player is required to journey through the Woods in a very specific pattern to make it to the other side safely. If this pattern is not completed correctly, the Woods will often repeat or…

Two weeks ago, we featured some art inspired by ZREO’s Twilight Symphony. Well, this week, with our recent post about Terrible Fate, a Majora’s Mask Tribute album, we have an amazing piece of artwork to share from that project that is currently featured on their Facebook page, created by Salvador Ramírez Madriz. Although a lot of the work for Majora’s Mask we see uses very harsh colors, my favorite part about this one is just how beautiful and bright the…

Today’s fanart spotlight is from German artist Dion. This is an artist who has done some absolutely incredible fan artwork for the Zelda series, specifically Majora’s Mask, and is someone who I have wanted to feature more than once in the past. So today, along with looking at this newest remarkable creation, we will also be looking at some of Dion’s previous work as well.

Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on deviantART artist, Annausagi‘s Majora’s Mask fanart, “Dawn of a new day“. In this fanart it features four of the game’s main characters: Link, Skull Kid, Tatl, and Tael. They are all lying down relaxing after the final battle against Majora’s Mask. It’s a well deserved rest too seeing as Link fought hard against the cursed mask and that Skull Kid was possessed by it for a long time until Link summoned the giants to…

In this weeks collection video we take at the Skull Kid Statue, created by First 4 Figures. Originally released in Q1 2007, this statue has since become a very rare and expensive collectible. Retailing at $99.99 at launch, nowadays it is hard to find this statue for anything less than $600. As of this post, there are two listings presently available on eBay, with Buy it Now prices of $750 and $800 respectively, with the chance for a Best Offer….

There have been a few debates on the actual intent of the Skull Kid in Majora’s Mask and if he was truly evil or not in the past. Well in the latest update of the webcomic Brawl in the Family we get to see a humorous take on the Skull Kid first getting his hands on Majora’s Mask and starting trouble. Only the mask and the Skull Kid have differing opinions on how they should do it. Jump in to…

Ever since 2009, gamers have been eagerly waiting for the next Super Smash Bros. title. Now, with Nintendo’s E3 announcement regarding the next game, people have been hyped more now than ever. But one question remains: who will the playable characters be? We can assume that all of our normal heroes and villains will be returning, but who will be introduced? Recently, there has been a campaign on Twitter to have Skull Kid as a playable character in the next…

Alright guys, it’s time for a new mailbag. This one’s huge! 18 questions in total. I’m pretty sure that’s a new record for the Curiosity Shop. There’s some really good variety, too, with questions spread out across numerous games and only a single short one that’s Skyward Sword related. Hope you enjoy! You can watch the video here or check out the embed after the jump. Questions and timestamps: (00:15) – Would you like future overworlds to be like the…

Today’s Fanart Spotlight is a gorgeous digital cel-shaded piece by artist Christie Tseng called Majora’s Mask. This picture is jam-packed with detail, featuring Link and all three of his transformation mask counterparts playing their respective instruments. The Skull Kid looms above the group holding Majora’s Mask up to his face, in his usual crouching posture. Christie uses the familiar solid block shading style from the official Majora’s Mask art, but also uses gradients to create subtle variations of the same…
