Not too long ago, the Japanese eShop received a new app for the 3DS called Collectible Badge Center. This free-to-download title features crane-like mini games where you can win different badges based on characters or items from popular Nintendo franchises. These badges can then be applied to your 3DS’ home screen to add a little flair to your handheld.

Most of the badges available so far are from either Animal Crossing: New Leaf or from the various Mario games, though it doesn’t look like…

Nintendo of America recently tweeted a graph that takes a jab at other gaming consoles by pointing out just how much better the games are on the Wii U and the 3DS. It makes the point that, between the 3DS and the Wii U, there are 19 different games with a Metascore of 85 and above, while the PS Vita, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One all put together have a grand total of 8.

As you can see here, three of the games listed are Zelda titles, proving just how good the series is at providing quality games: there’s Wind Waker HD, A Link Between Worlds, and Ocarina of Time 3D, and we all know that Zelda U would make the list if it was already out…

Well, just about everyone has assumed this by now, and we even did a report less than a month ago on a piece that seemed to confirm Grezzo’s involvement in the upcoming 2015 release of Majora’s Mask 3D, but until now there hasn’t been official confirmation. A rating from Australia lists Grezzo as the developer of the game, finally confirming what we all suspected…

If there was one aspect of Ocarina of Time 3D most fans can agree was a slight let down, it was that the music itself didn’t get the same “remade” treatment the game did. Some felt maybe Grezzo was being lazy or possibly that the budget didn’t exist to take care of it. Whatever the case may be, folks generally wished it happened. Koji Kondo has finally spoken up on why it didn’t occur, as it appears it was entirely his own decision to not do it…

When it comes to remastering old games, there’s often a very big argument about whether it’s “too soon” to make it, if the game is too new for a remake; we saw all kinds of arguments like this last year, back when The Wind Waker HD was released, and it’s become a really big issue with other remakes like the new Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Within the Zelda community, and at Zelda Informer especially, we’re constantly arguing about this kind of issue; should a Majora’s Mask remake be put into production, or is the game too new to do so? Should the next remake instead be for something like…

Nick Robinson of Rev3Games, one of the top resources for video games on YouTube, sat down with Chastity Vicencio to discuss Ocarina of Time in this week’s Coffee Talk. Chastity revealed that she has never played the game before and finally decided to pick up the 3DS version of the title. In fact, the only other Zelda game that she has played was A Link to the Past. However, the discussion spends little time on Ocarina of Time. After talking about how far into the game they are, they hit on topics from other titles in the series and why it’s an exciting time to be a fan of the Zelda series…
