In Majora’s Mask, with all the chaos and sorrow around you, you often make your way to the Astral Observatory for a little peace. You burst the balloon that’s blocking your way and climb up a ladder to find yourself in that familiar yet oddly serene environment embraced in color. A mystical tune immediately puts you at ease, despite the fact of the moon falling…

Today, I stumbled across what may be the best cover of a Zelda II song that I have ever heard. The strange thing? It’s only on one instrument.

Usually the most successful Zelda covers consist of multiple musicians, or one musician recording himself playing different instruments. This special 12 string acoustic cover of Zelda II‘s Battle Theme only uses one guitar…

YouTube channel 72HoursRemaining uploaded a fantastic video showcasing Twilight Princess’ trailer theme (otherwise known as “Don’t Want You No More” as a Japanese translation) on acoustic guitar. This cover is a unique, classical approach to this epic theme, and is totally worth watching! Hit the jump to take a look!

Earlier this week, a YouTuber under the name of NateWantsToBattle uploaded a throwback to his music video “Dawn of the Third Day”, which debuted early last year. The video is honestly nothing more than a seamless loop of the original for nearly 28 minutes, but that hasn’t stopped me from listening to it for the last few hours. I have a 30 minute commute to work and back, so I crank it up and by the time it’s over, so is my drive. It makes my life super easy since my stereo system no longer works. The lyrics are very creative and the references to the Zelda series are quite entertaining…

There is no video game music I enjoy more than The Legend of Zelda‘s. It’s great to see fans go above and beyond to put their own twists on these beloved songs. Tom Winter is no newbie when it comes to acoustically arranging Zelda tunes. He’s previously recreated Zelda songs such as: Gerudo ValleyClock Town, and Kokiri Forest, just to name a few! In his latest video he’s taken the short but sweet Great Fairy Fountain theme and soothed my head with soft guitar sweeps and harmonies…

Hello fellow music lovers and welcome back to another entry of our (forever belated) Weekly Feature: The Weekly Music Spotlight! Every week, we showcase a YouTube artist or two who takes tunes from The Legend of Zelda and makes them their own, whether it be through arrangements, covers, or any other kind of altered take on the source material. Last week, we took a look a couple of musicians who excel on the keyboard, so this week we’ll turn to a different branch of instrumentalists whose focus is found in…

You may have heard of 72HoursRemaining, a couple of new YouTubers that specialize in making guitar covers of tons of different Zelda songs.

Recently, they released a guitar cover of the Deku Palace theme from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and it’s great; personally, I really like the arrangement, and it really pays justice to the original piece. It’s very complex and calming, and the rustic sound of the two guitars really fits into the context of the original song.

If you want to check out more of their stuff…

“Milk Bar” from Majora’s Mask is one of the most catchiest songs from the series, and a YouTube artist by the name of SadToyCats recently released an excellent cover of the song. He features guitar, piano, tambourine, and a rhythmic clapping to complete his catchy tune. Hit the jump to take a listen!

I have heard of different Zelda melodies, but this is a little different. Can you imagine popular Zelda themes being played in rock and roll? Well imagine no further because YouTube user On Being Human has done just that with melodies from The Legend Of Zelda, and captures the themes on the guitar and drums. Hit the jump to check it out!

Fans of the Zelda series and country music are in for a treat. Youtuber Nathan Smith has posted a song that combines the soulful tone of the country genre with lyrics full of iconic Zelda imagery. Titled “Dawn of the Third Day,” it can be heard in its entirety after the jump.
