Four Swords: a strange creature in the realm of Zelda, but nonetheless, it is most definitely Zelda. So then, having had only two entries in the overall franchise, with an anniversary rerelease on the 3DS just last year, what does the future hold for this somewhat ambitious, yet tempered beast? Oddly, the timing of this, my first article, resonates with Axle’s article on the multiplayer of Zelda earlier this week. Having read through it myself, I find that he has…

The topic of multiplayer in the Zelda series is a bit of a strange one. Despite being able to occasionally find elements from other genres in certain games in the series, Zelda is first and foremost an adventure game, where your focus is going to be on completing a journey, but also just finding things and enjoying the journey itself. It’s not exactly a genre in which one often finds multiplayer functionality, but on occasion Zelda games do have multiplayer…

In this weeks collection video we take a look at these Four Swords Yujin Gashapon Figures. This set of four was originally released back in 2003 to support Four Swords for the Game Boy Advance. Each of the four Links comes with its own distinct item, as well as a sword and shield. If you tilt the head of any of the Links, their eyes will freakishly change where they are looking, almost as if they are staring off in…

Back in October, I let you all know about an incredible little hack for Ocarina of Time that adds a completely new experience to the game. This hack gives you the ability to play as four separate Links in OoT. It has recently been brought to our attention by jman990 that Spinout182 is the person who originally created the hack and himself who fixed a few of the bugs and perfected it. Jman990 has made a tutorial video showing how…

As part of the 25th Anniversary for The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo released Four Swords as a free download for anyone with a DSI or 3DS. The game received a partial makeover featuring a second quest which contains new levels that take inspiration from previous Zelda games. Nintendo gave us a very considerate amount of time to download the title, but sadly, the deadline is coming up very soon. February 20th will be the last day this title is available…

2011 was a huge year for The Legend of Zelda. In honor of celebrating the series’ 25th anniversary, Nintendo had many things planned in the form of interviews, concerts, and games. Throughout the last several months we have seen tons of interviews with various people sharing their Zelda memories and what they love about the series. Also, if you were lucky enough to live in Japan, London, or Los Angeles you got to experience the first round of the Legend…

Ocarina of Time was released 13 years ago. Since then it has had multiple re-releases and even a full 3D remake with enhanced graphics for the 3DS and just when I thought it could not get any better, I come across this. A four swords co-op version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I have no idea how he did it, but the YouTube user Slickpacho146 has found a way to have a full four player experience with…

A user on Facebook has uploaded a couple of images of the Concert Hall in Los Angeles where the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony will be held. While rehersals are under way, The stage is set for the Symphony to play there wonderful, nostalgic masterpieces. The concert is set to begin on the 21st of October at 8:00pm, so keep your tickets safe and ready and head on over to the Pantages Theatre nice and early. Tickets are still…

As you all are certain to know, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition became available for free on DSi and 3DS systems across Europe, Australia, and North America a few days ago. Now that we’ve had some more time to play it, we’d like to give (and, of course, hear) some more first impressions on the game beyond just the tutorial levels. Read on to see what I think.

Robin Williams and his daughter Zelda are avid Zelda fans as we know well by all the commercials they have been doing. Robin naming his own daughter Zelda is a huge clue about that as well. There are new ads out now available for enjoyment about the Four Swords Anniversary game that is free for download on the 3DS. These ads make me wish that my parents were into video games too. I love how she calls him Santa and…
