Nintendo’s partnership with Universal theme parks has proven to be one of the Japanese game maker’s most exciting announcements in years. The idea of Nintendo’s rich pantheon of characters and locations being brought to life is a dream come true for many long-time fans. While the original Super Nintendo World park opened in Universal Studios Japan (located in Osaka) in 2021, North Americans fans will soon have a version of the theme park located a bit closer to home.
In a tweet and press release, Universal Studios and their parent company NBC Universal announced that the first Super Nintendo World park in the United States will open at the Universal Studios Hollywood location in 2023. NBC Universal asserted that Super Nintendo World will be “a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located within a newly expanded area of the theme park, featuring a groundbreaking ride and interactive areas, to be enjoyed by the whole family.”

To mark the upcoming arrival of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood, the Feature Presentation retail store will be getting a Super Nintendo World makeover. This store, located inside Universal Studios Hollywood’s main entrance, will give theme park customers a chance to buy Nintendo-themed items like apparel, hats, plushies, and more. Though Link and the Zelda series are not mentioned by name in the press release, it stands to reason that there will be some exciting Zelda-themed items in the Feature Presentation store.
