I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Zelda fan music is amazing. No matter what type of musician does it, whether its a metal rocker or a two-man band, it always comes out sounding like they truly appreciate what the Zelda series has done for them. There’s even the kind of musician who’s only instrument for an entire video game tune is using his own voice. That’s right folks, the man with the golden voice that is known to the world as Smooth McGroove is back with an all-new a capella cover of another great Zelda song.

This time, McGroove returns to the Great Sea as he now tackles the Outset Island Theme from The Wind Waker. As stated in my previous post on the man known as McGroove, Smooth is a popular YouTube musician that does a capella versions of popular and nostalgic video game tunes using his own voice. This is the main reason why multiple versions of himself are seen in all of his videos: each one is produced in an a capella style, and he sings every part. This is why fans of Smooth McGroove watch every panel in the video very closely to find out when his cat Charl will make an appearance.

This game is still one of my favorite Zelda titles of all time, and this a capella version of the theme just makes me want to play through this adventure all over again. What did you think of the video? Do you have a favorite Smooth McGroove Zelda a capella cover? Let us know in the comments below!
