Suni Some of you may or may not have heard of an upcoming game known as Road Redemption. It is a game being made by DarkSeas Games, who have also works on big name projects such as God of War, and being funded through Kickstarter. Surpassing its goal of $160,000 by $13,803, the project is currently in the works. The game is a racing combat game with multiple modes. However, it is being developed more for its gameplay than the typical racing game and uses a style and engine similar to the Road Rash game series. The developers are hoping to make it a skill-based game such as those that defined the Nintendo 64. The game will also incorporate online play. It will be released for the Wii U, Xbox 360, and computer.

If that wasn’t enough to interest you, how about the game being compared to Twilight Princess? In a recent interview with the website Nintendo Everything, DarkSeas Games gave some more insight into what to expect from the game, but one thing in particular is worth noting. Specifically, they said,

It’s all about motorcycle combat racing. So imagine you’re playing an action game like God of War or Zelda: Twilight Princess, but moving at 100mph.

This way of describing the game interested me for sure because I loved riding Epona and battling with her. I’m rather excited for this game because it not only is being made for the Wii U, which I will have to get eventually, but it also focused more on gameplay than all the “razzle dazzle” graphics of recent racing and combat games. I’m also excited because from the screenshots and information given so far, it kind of seems like Team Fortess 2 for racing (i.e. the graphics, collectible weapons, and multiple gaming modes).

So what do you guys think of this game, its comparison to Zelda games, and its future? I’m excited, like I said, but I still think its a game type that has been done a bit too much. Leave a comment below.
