Report: GameStop Doing Midnight Release for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS

This may not be a surprise to some, but some GameStops are reportedly doing a midnight release for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. Stores that do midnight release tend to do them based on pre-orders. I checked with my local GameStop and they haven’t made a final decision on it, but supposedly one GameStop at least received an email telling them to do it. Some GameStops also did midnight releases for Pokémon X and Y, so it’s not completely unheard of when it comes to Nintendo games. I don’t believe any Wii U games have had a midnight release yet, but maybe that also changes for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

My advice if you want the game as soon as possible: Check with your local store and see what they tell you. Obviously if you pre-ordered at a 24-hour Walmart store (or equivalent), you can always get your game at midnight.
