Quirky Fan Animation Parodies Link’s Awakening

To say Link’s Awakening is eccentric is… a bit of an understatement. Playing the newly-released remake for the Nintendo Switch reminded me of just how different it is in spite of its traditional quest structure. It’s an adventure that revels in its sense of whimsy while delivering poignant, memorable moments of its own. It never takes itself seriously, and fans are capitalizing on that fact.

YouTube channel Samination has delivered an animated parody of Link’s Awakening that calls out some of its quirkier moments and character interactions. Fans of the game are sure to appreciate Samination’s take on some of Link’s exchanges with Koholint Island’s denizens, and the trials and tribulations that he’s subjected to. Personally speaking, I’m not sure that I’ll ever be able to look at Marin the same way again after watching this…
