Photoshop Contest: Free Week #3

Happy Friday, everyone. I am back to bring you another entry in Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest! As it is the end of the month, the contest will once again employ the fan-favorite Free Week format, in which I suspend any kind of theme and let contestants Photoshop our gallery in any way they wish. So let’s get the party started, and check out the entries from last week’s contest: Zelda Anime Z.

Last Week’s Contest:

Many Zelda fans were disappointed to see the Zeldamotion anime project shut down a few weeks ago, as it meant we may not see a professional Zelda anime any time soon. So despite not knowing anything anime, I had contestants create images for their own Zelda anime.

Challenge Mode

As far as I know, two of the biggest clichés in anime are melodramatic romances and talking animals. Last week’s challenge mode required both of these things. A few artists accepted this challenge, but artist Sweswe offered an entry that looks so much like a believable anime. Link is definitely the eye of all the girls at Hyrule Academy, and Zelda is not happy about it. At least she has her friend Moosh (the animal companion from the Oracle games) to calm her down. I’d watch that show.

This Week’s Contest: Free Week #3

The Free Week format is our way of giving contestants a bit more freedom in the Photoshop Contest. Rather than follow a particular theme, contestants can ‘shop our image gallery below in pretty much any way they want.

Free Week Rules: I will provide just a few images in the gallery below. As long as at least one of these images is used in your entry in some way, you are free to produce any image you like.

General Rules:

  • Submit your entries in the comments section below.
  • To save images from the gallery, right click the image in the gallery (without opening the image in lightbox) and select open image in new tab. Go up to the address bar and delete __small from the URL. Hit enter, right click, and save!
  • Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
  • Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Deadline: Submit entries no later than next Wednesday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on August 5. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.

Challenge Mode

For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have a few Challenge Rules for you to follow:

1. Your entry must include a bowl of green beans.

2. Your entry must include a smash ball from Super Smash Bros.

If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.

Good luck!
