PeanutButterGamer is a popular presence on YouTube. You might know him from his annual Zelda Month videos, where every November he does a string of videos on Zelda-related content (most recently he did a collaboration with YouTuber Yungtown called “Why We Love Skyward Sword“). PBG also has a gameplay channel where he does Let’s Plays, and lately he’s been playing through a hacked version of Mario 64.

PBG’s hacked Mario 64 video series has been appropriately called “Mario Chaos Edition.” The game has random glitches come up during gameplay that make beating the game much more difficult (and, for some, incredibly entertaining to watch and/or play). These glitches range from Mario turning into a sign post, Mario’s health constantly draining, turning into a gigantic Mario (but still playing as if you are regular-sized), the background glitching out, colors turning negative, and many, many more (there really are too many to list). Somehow, PBG’s Mario Chaos series has lasted for fifteen episodes (watch the latest one here).

This hack was created by Kaze Emanuar (check out his YouTube channel here), but Kaze didn’t stop with Mario 64. He also created a hacked version of Ocarina of Time, and PBG tried it out. Even Kaze commented on the video, saying he didn’t expect PBG to play it, thinking it was “too unplayable to even try.” And, well, you can see for yourself in the video above whether Kaze was right about that or not. The glitches may be even more chaotic and detrimental to the gameplay experience than Mario 64 hacked. It didn’t stop PBG from trying it out, though, and the results are quite chaotic. At one point an Arwing from Star Fox 64 shows up and fires lasers at Young Link!

Be warned, though; there are some rather erratic camera movements and shaking of the camera, so if you’re sensitive to such things, it may be better not to watch.
