Musical Icon “Freckled Zelda” Gives One Last Magical Performance on America’s Got Talent

Sitting in the living room with my grandmother, I intently watched the TV with suspense as I waited to see the fate of “Freckled Zelda” on America’s Got Talent (AGT).
After making it to the semi-finals of the 17th season of AGT, social media icon Freckled Zelda, aka Rachael Wilson, gave a magical performance of Limahl’s “Never Ending Story” on August 16th, combining a beautiful voice with talented ocarina playing. However, she would come to be voted off the following night, where voters chose the young singer Maddie for the Top 5 and Top 3 of this week’s contestants.
This isn’t the first time we’ve talked about Freckled Zelda here at Zelda Dungeon. In addition to her audition for AGT, we’ve also covered her work on Songbird Ocarina’s Skyward Sword medley. If her recent performances entice you, consider giving her a follow on various social media, including TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify, and Facebook, to view her ocarina covers of classic Zelda songs and her own original singles like “Stay Focused,” among other covers and content. She also has her own online store with original merchandise, and a Shopify, where she sells hair spirals.
After missing the chance to see her in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee last year, as well as her original audition this July, I was blown away by this week’s performance. Her voice was majestic, and the ocarina portion was just as beautiful, not to mention the stellar accompaniment and visual effects. Wanting to support a fellow Zelda fan and genuinely wanting her to move past the semi-finals, I cast my 10 point vote for her. Though she may have been voted off, Freckled Zelda’s music career is surely a never-ending story. I can’t wait to see where she goes from here.
If you want to vote for contestants on AGT, visit NBC’s voting site here, which updates every week with each new group of talent.
What do you think of Freckled Zelda’s performances? Were you hoping to see her make it further? Have you been following this season of AGT? Let us know in the comments below!
