Coming hot off the news of the remake’s achievements in the United Kingdom, and Europe and the United States, the Japanese sales numbers for the debut week of Majora’s Mask 3D have just arrived – and they’re good. Although the title only was released towards the end of the sales week, it still beat out all other games, including other new releases, by a mile. Another impressive factoid that can likely be traced to the release of Majora’s Mask 3D is that the sales of the New Nintendo 3DS XL nearly doubled compared to the week prior. Considering that the console has been out for months in Japan, this is probably not mere coincidence. If sales numbers for the title stay high in all regions, perhaps we will actually start seeing more remakes, as Nintendo has indicated they have interest in doing.

At this rate, it shouldn’t be long before this entry passes the one million mark and establishes its place as one of the best-selling Zelda handheld titles yet. Have you gotten your copy of Majora’s Mask 3D? Who’s experiencing it on the New Nintendo 3DS? Do you have a preference for which remakes should come next?
