Inspired by Zelda: Darksiders II is a Deathinitive Zelda Experience

It’s no secret that we are some of the most die hard Legend of Zelda fans you could ever meet. When I was younger, and maybe slightly stupid, I thought “Why the heck aren’t there more games like this?” Little did I know that the series had and would inspire a slew of other games like it inspired me. One of the best things about playing these games is when you can feel how much love the creators have for the Zelda series, and no game shows it more to me than Darksiders II.

In the newest entry in the Hyrule Compendium, Mases and I talk about our collective love for this game, and what is so “Zelda” about it. From the dungeons, items, puzzles, and collectibles, there are so many clear inspirations and even innovations Darkisders II takes and spins from The Legend of Zelda. Of course it’s also not a perfect game, and so we also discuss some of it’s flaws. Check out the video to see our full thoughts!
